Cascade Classifiers for Hierarchical Decision Systems

چکیده
Hierarchical classifiers are usually defined as methods of classifying inputs into defined output categories. The classification occurs first on a low-level with highly specific pieces of input data. The classifications of the individual pieces of data are then combined systematically and classified on a higher level iteratively until one output is produced. This final output is the overall classification of the data. In this paper we follow a controlled devise type of approach. The initial group of classifiers is trained using all objects in an information system S partitioned by values of the decision attribute d at its all granularity levels (one classifier per level). Only values of the highest granularity level (corresponding granules are the largest) are used to split S into information sub-systems where each one is built by selecting objects in S of the same decision value. These sub-systems are used for training new classifiers at all granularity levels of its decision attribute. Next, we split each sub-system further by sub-values of its decision value. The obtained tree-structure with groups of classifiers assigned to each of its nodes is called a cascade classifier. Given an incomplete information system with a hierarchical decision attribute d, we consider the problem of training classifiers describing values of d at its lowest granularity level. Taking MIRAI database of music instrument sounds (Raś et al., 2007b), as an example, we show that the confidence of such classifiers can be lower than the confidence of cascade classifiers.

Hierarchical PSO-Adaboost Based Classifiers for Fast and Robust Face Detection
We propose a fast and robust hierarchical face detection system which finds and localizes face images with a cascade of classifiers. Three modules contribute to the efficiency of our detector. First, heterogeneous feature descriptors are exploited to enrich feature types and feature numbers for face representation. Second, a PSO-Adaboost algorithm is proposed to efficiently select discriminativ...
متن کاملMultiple Classifiers for Different Features in Timbre Estimation
Computer storage and network techniques have brought a tremendous need to find a way to automatically index digital music recordings. In this paper, state of art acoustic features for timbre automatic indexing were explored to construct efficient classification models, such as decision tree as well as KNN. The authors built a database containing more than one million music instrument sound slic...
متن کاملHierarchical Cascade of Classifiers for Efficient Poselet Evaluation
Poselets [1] have been used in a variety of computer vision tasks, such as detection, segmentation, action classification, pose estimation and action recognition, often achieving state-of-the-art performance. Poselets are part classifiers trained to detect part of a human pose under a given viewpoint. Examples of poselet classifiers are a frontal face, a part of a face and left shoulder, or a h...
متن کاملMulti-perspective Decision Support System for Hierarchical Bus Transportation Network Design: Tehran Case Study
In this paper, a multi-perspective decision support system (MP-DSS) to design hierarchical public transportation network is developed. Since this problem depends on different perspectives, MP-DSS consists of two sub-systems with macro and micro sub-systems based on travel information, land use and expert knowledge. In the micro sub-system, two sub-modules are developed considering o...

Proposing a hierarchical group compromise method can be regarded as a one of major multi-attributes decision-making tool that can be introduced to rank the possible alternatives among conflict criteria. Decision makers’ (DMs’) judgments are considered as imprecise or fuzzy in complex and hesitant situations. In the group decision making, an aggregation of DMs’ judgments and fuzzy group compromi...
